Process Tech Press Releases

PROCESSTECH 2028

NAME CHANGE PRESS RELEASE

13 OCTOBER 2026

ProcessTech brings processing technology into focus across key manufacturing sectors

New identity sharpens focus on processing technologies across four key industries.

ProcessTech is a dedicated trade exhibition for processing technologies and solutions across the food, beverage, pulp and paper industries. Following its launch as AgroPro Africa earlier this year, the exhibition has adopted a new identity that more directly reflects its focus on processing technology, industrial innovation and the evolving needs of manufacturers and processors.

The new ProcessTech identity reinforces the importance of technology in improving production capabilities, supporting operational efficiency and helping businesses remain competitive. The exhibition brings together machinery, equipment, automation and processing solutions for businesses seeking to improve performance, respond to changing market demands and identify opportunities for growth.

As processors face increasing production demands, cost pressures, changing customer requirements and the need for more efficient and sustainable operations, access to appropriate technology is becoming increasingly important. Advances in automation, process control, production equipment and resource efficiency can help businesses improve productivity, maintain product quality and strengthen their competitiveness.

Food. Beverage. Pulp. Paper.

Food and beverage processing plays a significant role in Africa’s manufacturing economy, transforming agricultural raw materials into products for domestic consumption and export. The industry relies on a broad range of processing technologies and production systems to meet market demand, maintain quality and improve efficiency.

Pulp and paper processing is equally important, supplying materials for packaging, printing, tissue, hygiene and other applications. Advances in processing technology, fibre recovery and recycling are helping the sector meet evolving customer needs while improving resource efficiency and supporting more circular production systems.

“ProcessTech reflects the importance of processing technology in helping businesses respond to production challenges, remain competitive and pursue new opportunities,” says Josh Low, Group Growth Director – Africa at Montgomery Group, organisers of the exhibition. “The exhibition will connect processors and manufacturers with equipment suppliers, technology providers and service specialists, creating opportunities to explore new solutions, showcase innovations and build relationships that can support business growth. It is about bringing the right industries and technologies together in a focused, commercially relevant environment.”

Added value of co-located shows

ProcessTech will take place alongside Propak Africa 2028, a well-established exhibition covering packaging, plastics, printing, labelling, processing and recycling, with more than 40 years of industry experience and a strong track record, and Machine Tools Africa, an established exhibition with a long history serving the machine tools and manufacturing sectors. Each exhibition retains its own identity and industry focus, while their co-location brings complementary industries, technologies and business communities together at one venue. Together, they create one of South Africa’s premier manufacturing exhibition platforms.

Across the combined exhibitions, an estimated 10,000+ key decision-makers and 650+ suppliers are expected, alongside more than 60 seminar speakers and 16,000 m² of net exhibition space. For ProcessTech exhibitors, this wider platform creates opportunities to showcase products and technologies, reach potential customers, generate business leads and build commercial relationships across related industries.

Visitors to ProcessTech can discover processing equipment, technologies and solutions for food, beverage, pulp and paper operations, alongside the wider range of packaging and manufacturing technologies showcased at the co-located exhibitions. The seminar programme will provide further insight into industry developments, emerging technologies and practical challenges facing businesses.

Industry associations and partners also have an important role to play in connecting their members with relevant technologies, expertise and commercial opportunities across these sectors.

.

ProcessTech will take place from 7-10 March 2028 at the Johannesburg Expo Centre in Nasrec, Johannesburg.
